Kata: Competitor performs Uechi kata of choice and is scored based on knowledge of sequence, precision, timing, balance, power, control and spirit.

Sparring (Jr. & Teen all ranks/Adults Ikkyu-Yondan Only): Light contact point based sparring. Matches are randomized bracket placement.

Obstacle Course (Junior & Teen Only): A variety of strength and dexterity based obstacles and fitness test are set before the competitor which he or she tries to complete as fast of possible. Times will be posted online following the event (Winners are not announced the day of). Please check the event timeline for when the course is open. Competitors may run the course at a time of their choosing as long as it doesn't interfere with their other events.

Weapons:  Competitor performs a traditional weapon kata of choice and is scored based on knowledge of sequence, precision, timing, balance, power, control and spirit.

Kumite: Partners perform either Kyu or Dan Kumite and are scored based on knowledge of sequence, precision, timing, balance, power, control and spirit. If competitors are of different rank and age, then they compete in the higher ranking division. (Competitors must stick to strict kumite format)

Synchronized Kata: Partners perform Uechi Kata of choice and are scored based on knowledge of sequence, precision, timing, balance, power, control and spirit. If competitors are of different rank and age, then they compete in the higher ranking division.

Family Kata: Family members of all ages perform Uechi Kata of choice and are scored based on knowledge of sequence, precision, timing, balance, power, control and spirit. If competitors are of different rank and age, then they compete in the higher ranking division.

Freestyle Bunkai/Kumite (Teen & Adult Only): Our newest division! Competitor teams showcase their favorite applications of Uechi Kata in the form of pre-arranged bunkai or kumite. Bunkais and kumites can be formal or informal based on pacing and theme. Teams must consist of either 2, 3, or 4 competitors. Teams are judged based on understanding of technique, creativity, timing, and pacing. There is a three minute maximum time limit.
